1000 YEN CHANGE?

Coming back on the late train, i got a cheap ticket from Osaka. When exiting the train i tried to be legit and pay, but i noticed that my train only has change for 1000yen. Unfortunately i only had 5000yen and 100000yen bill. After a couple of confusing looks with the train driver, i told him that i was american and that i didnt know that the train only had change for 1000yen bills. Him looking just as confused just said "next, station" and gestured me out. So i hopped on out of the train. Cool! cheap ticket home, its nice to have a little inaka station. That was like $18 bucks saved! Or like 3 bowls of ramen.
